Registration &
Eligibility

Students register with the Placement Cell. Eligibility is confirmed based on academic performance, attendance and programme requirements. Registered students receive end-to-end placement support.

Pre-Placement
Training

Students undergo structured preparation covering aptitude, technical skills, communication, group discussions and mock interviews — ensuring every student is industry-ready before the placement drives.

STEP 03
Company Connect &
Drive Scheduling

Recruiters register with SGI's Placement Cell. Job descriptions, roles, and eligibility criteria are shared with students. Shortlisting is completed and campus drive dates are confirmed and scheduled.

STEP 04
Selection
Process

Companies conduct their recruitment process on campus — technical assessments, group discussions and interviews. SGI ensures a seamless, professional experience for both students and recruiters.

Offer Letter &
Joining

Selected students receive their offer letters directly. The Placement Cell coordinates with the company to ensure smooth communication and supports every student until they successfully onboard and join.

Placement Policy

Purpose The SGI Placement Policy defines the structure, processes, and guidelines governing campus recruitment activities. Its purpose is to ensure fair, transparent, and efficient placements — giving every eligible student a genuine opportunity to begin their career with a company of merit, while maintaining the integrity and reputation that SGI's 17+ year placement legacy is built on.
Scope This policy applies to all final-year students enrolled in B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, BBA, BCA, and Diploma programmes at SGI, who have registered with the Placement Cell and meet the eligibility criteria outlined below.
Eligibility Criteria

To participate in campus placement drives, a student must:

  • Be a registered final-year student of SGI
  • Have a minimum attendance of 75% in the current academic year
  • Have no pending backlogs at the time of the placement drive (unless specifically permitted by the company)
  • Have completed their registration with the Placement Cell before the stipulated deadline
One Student – One Job Policy
  • Once a student receives and accepts a job offer through SGI's Placement Cell, they are considered placed and will not be eligible to appear in further campus drives.
  • This policy ensures that every student gets an equal opportunity, and that companies recruiting at SGI receive committed candidates.
  • Exception: A student may appear in one additional placement process if the CTC offered is at least double their existing offer. The student must inform the Placement Cell before applying.
Discipline & Code of Conduct
  • Students must behave with professionalism and decorum during all placement activities — drives, interviews, pre-placement talks, and interactions with recruiters.
  • Any act of indiscipline, misrepresentation of information, or misconduct during placement activities will result in immediate debarment from all future placement drives.
  • Students must be present at the scheduled time. Absenteeism without prior written intimation to the Placement Cell will be treated as a violation of this policy.
  • Any communication with recruiters must be routed through the Placement Cell. Direct solicitation is not permitted.
General Guidelines
  • All placements at SGI are facilitated exclusively through the Placement Cell. Students are not permitted to use the SGI name or brand to seek placements independently.
  • Campus recruitment is open only to final-year students unless a company specifically requests pre-final year recruitment, which must be approved by the Placement Cell.
  • SGI reserves the right to withhold placement assistance in cases of academic misconduct, disciplinary action, or violation of this policy.
Policy Amendment The SGI Placement Cell reserves the right to modify, update, or amend this policy at any time. Any changes will be communicated to students through official channels. Students are advised to stay updated through notices issued by the Placement Cell.
